Privacy is a big part of this little site.

Make It Upload is a little site built to help people overcome the littlest frustrations in their lives. There are no fees, accounts, subscriptions, or paid upgrades. A little advertising helps cover the cost of running it and, hopefully, contributes a little something to our kids’ college funds.

The important part: your file stays on your device. We don’t collect your files or the data inside them, because we know a little something about minding our own business.

We hope one of the little upload fixers on this little site saves you a little time, so you can focus on the bigger things, like saving for college.

A little transparency.

We use very limited anonymous analytics to help us understand if our little upload fixers are useful and working. These events can include the upload fixer used, a broad file type and size range, the kinds of problems found, processing time, and whether the repair finished. We distinguish built-in sample runs and our own tests from ordinary use. A random identifier lasts for the browser session. We don’t record your screen or create a personal profile.

Advertising and cookies.

We use Google AdSense to help pay for the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow it and its partners to personalize ads. We do not send your files, filenames, or file contents to these advertising services.

Our hosting provider may also use security cookies to protect the site from automated abuse. Your files and their contents stay on your device.

When an ad loads, your browser can share ordinary request information with Google, including your IP address and the page you’re visiting. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services for details.

Your advertising choices.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google in Google’s Ads Settings. Other participating advertising companies offer browser-based opt-outs through WebChoices. Google also publishes information about its certified third-party advertising vendors.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Opting out of personalized advertising does not remove all ads, and choices may need to be made again on another browser or device. Where an advertising consent message is shown, use its privacy settings to review or change your choices.

You can contact us by email or find our address on the contact page. We use the information you choose to send to respond to your message; it is not sent to our analytics or advertising services.
