A file can behave perfectly on your computer and still get turned away by Etsy. Size, file type, and the way the product is packaged can all get in the way. This upload fixer separates those problems so you can choose between renaming a file, repackaging a PDF, or returning to the product’s source application.

This upload fixer checks the size, extension, and filename against Etsy’s official digital-listing requirements.
For an oversized PDF, it suggests splitting or compression from the page count and source size; the actual output must still fit. It can make a filename-only copy of an otherwise compliant supported file. It does not change other product contents.
This upload fixer cannot check your existing listing attachments or confirm that the product inside a file works. PDF compression can change quality and document features. Other supported files can receive a filename-only repair, but their contents are not compressed or converted.
The listing is not set up for the correct instant-download or made-to-order digital workflow. The listing already has five files, or another attached file also exceeds Etsy’s limit. The Etsy session, browser, or connection fails after the file passes the checks available here.
Upload the repaired or safely renamed file in Etsy’s listing editor. Review the filename before publishing because buyers will see that name, and Etsy does not let you rename a file after upload.
Digital-product attachments are what the buyer receives. Listing videos advertise the product and follow a different set of rules. Etsy accepts MOV and MPEG among its digital-product formats; those files should not be silently shortened or stripped of sound. This upload fixer keeps them in the digital-file workflow and only checks their size, extension, and name. If you meant a promotional video in the Photos and video section, choose the listing-video upload fixer explicitly. Its fifteen-second repair is not suitable for a purchased tutorial.
Suppose a supported, under-limit ZIP is named Wedding Planner.zip. The space triggers the filename warning; a name such as wedding-planner.zip avoids that issue. A filename-only download uses the original file bytes, so it does not repack the archive, edit the product, or reduce the size. If the ZIP is also oversized, renaming cannot solve the upload. Reduce or reorganize its contents in the source application, then check the new export. Changing an extension does not convert a file into another format.
Choose splitting when original page detail matters and the parts can fit in the attachment allowance. Choose compression only when a smaller single file is useful and you can review the resulting text, artwork, and interactive features. The automatic suggestion uses source size and page count; it cannot know the ideal chapters or predict exact part sizes. A one-page poster cannot be divided at page boundaries. Keep the master export, and never replace a print-quality deliverable with a smaller copy just because its bytes pass.
Count all attachments, including files already present. Four new PDF parts plus two existing files exceeds Etsy’s five-file allowance even if each is small enough. For an instant download, attach the product while creating the listing; for a made-to-order digital item, use the order-completion workflow. Name numbered parts clearly and explain how the buyer should open them. Before publishing, open every final attachment yourself. This tool cannot see your listing configuration, verify a ZIP’s contents, or test the buyer’s software.
Etsy’s current list includes BMP, DOC, GIF, JPEG, JPG, MOBI, MOV, MP3, MPEG, PDF, PNG, PSP, RTF, STL, TXT, ZIP, ePUB, and iBook.
No. It can rename otherwise compliant supported files and route oversized PDFs to compression or splitting. It diagnoses other size and type problems without changing the product contents.
Etsy limits filenames to 70 approved characters, and the buyer sees the uploaded name. A clear, compliant name removes one possible reason for rejection.
